Sambro Island Light

This is my second watercolour painting in my chart work collection. It is of the Sambro Island Lighthouse found outside Halifax, Nova Scotia. Most lighthouses have been automated now and the keepers are long gone. Sambro Lighthouse was opened in 1759 and automated in 1988, making it the oldest standing and operating lighthouse in the americas. In 1997 has been designated a protected heritage building.

This painting is on an 8”x10” chart paper adhered to a wood panel. The painting is coated with a preservative to protect the work. It is ready to hang.
